Working with Hannah, behind the scenes photos
When I was really small I was constantly "borrowing" my Dad's camera.
I wasn't actually allowed to use it as it was very expensive.
My Dad would complain that I'd drop it or loose the lens cap.
Nowdays I use my own camera (which I do not drop!).
I live on the Isle of Mull. It is a small island off the West coast of Scotland. Living in such stunning landscape I am always out and about with my dog (Muile) and a camera. The only down side to bringing Muile is that she woofs at the seals and chases the deer away!
One year my dad bought me a DSLR for my birthday. I started attending workshops and became an assistant for Philip Price, a Multi award winning wildlife photographer who lives a ferry ride away from me, he is enthusiastic and patient and I learnt a lot.
I am a visually creative person and as long as there's music in the background I can spend hours editing photographs.

|For me, photography is an escape. When I'm photographing something that's all I'm thinking about. I become totally consumed. I'm having so much fun, all I'm thinking about is the lighting, a different angle, camera settings, and how can I shoot this differently from every other photographer. There is no room in my brain to have worries or think about anything else.
I am totally addicted to getting the best shot. I am eternally grateful for my boyfriend, family and friends who have all been subjected to my addiction. Selfishly I find myself bargaining, 'it's not that cold out here, give me just 5 more minutes', whilst half way up a mountain in the snow in the middle of a Scottish winter.
When I am in this 'photographer' frame of mind I do things that I would normally never do. I have found myself dangling out of the side of light aircraft and leaning over the side of boats. I am petrified of spiders and frogs but with a camera in my hand I am fearless.
My favourite subjects to photograph are people. I am fascinated by meeting new people with different customs and ways of life. I love the differences, but there is something magic in that instant when humour crosses all barriers and laughter is understood and I can capture that moment in which we are the same. I have taken my camera to Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, the Canary Islands, Italy, Austria, Holland and all over Britain, but I'm greedy and I always want to photograph more.
I pay for most of my equipment by taking commissions for personal portfolios and from magazines and newspapers. I also photograph weddings which I love. I am a romantic and I'm always exited to do a wedding. I do feel honoured when a couple choose me for such an important day in their lives. I try to capture people at their most natural with candid shots, I like to become an observer of their wedding, quietly capturing the special moments as they unfold.
Work in progress...
